Since graduating from the National Academy of Art in Sofia in 1985, Marina has designed over 100 shows for companies, including the National Theatre, Theatre “Bulgarian Army”, Theatre “199, Sofia; Tvorcheskie Masterskie - Moscow, Russia; Clarence Brown Theatre - Knoxville, USA; Dramski Theater, Skopie, Macedonia. Her set and costume design work has been featured at the Prague International Quadrennial of Scenografy (PQ) in 1987, 1995, 1999, 2003 and at World Stage Design Gallery Exhibit– Toronto 2005. Marina served as curator of the Bulgarian national exhibit at PQ’2003 and member of the organizing team of Scenofest 2003. She is Chair of the Education Commission of OISTAT (The International Organization of Scenographers, Theatre Architects and Technicians) and one of the main organizers of Scenofest at PQ’07.

Marina has taught set and costume design at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and has been guest lecturer at the University of Nebraska, University of Kansas, Furman University, USA; RITS, Hogesschool Brussels; UT Design Seminar - Salzburg; North Karelia Polytechnic, Joenso, Finland; Mimar Sinan University, Istanbul; University of the Arts, Belgrade. In March 2007 she was invited to present her work at the Annual Conference of the United States Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT) in Phoenix, Arizona.
